got my new RS*R installed (pics)

RS*R exhuast: $150

Sanded down... painted the pipe with high temp black, polished the muffler/tip

The piping had to be shortened by 3 inches to fit and the holes in the exhaust flange had to be slotted inwards towards the center to match up with the stock Si CAT. Other than that, fitment was perfect.

Installed on the car...

REVIEW: The tip is a little larger than i'd prefer (100mm) but other than that it looks great. The sound is almost non-existant. If you try you can hear it just barely, but still overall its definately much cleaner sounding than the stock exhaust. I still have my stock cat and header, once those are upgraded i feel certain that the exhaust will be heard and it'll sound perfect. As of now the CAI overshadows the exhaust.

All in all... very happy

That can't be an original tip, or else it's REALLY REALLY old, or an imitation RS*R.

I think its an old version to be honest with you. I'd prefer the newer tip with the rolled edges and angled approach but oh well.... This exhaust clearly has the RS*R logo built into the muffler and has tags(one was pictured) that say RS*R on them along with other japanese i can't read.

RSRs came in angle tip styles and straight tip. The straight tip style for the VTEC models had a stainless steel muffler while the angled tipped ones were painted. It should be vice versa for the SI's, but i guess not. Here's mine on my (old) car. It's the same as munchsers but i have a bracket underneath the tip that goes from the base of the tip to the muffler which i think is for support.

pics of the RSR next to the Brullen. Notice how much nicer the bends are and hangars. The RSR made my Brullen look like it was made in a midas garage. By the way the BRULLEN is for sale!

Gills: I forgot about the 90degree tip. It doesn't say RS*R on it though?

Yes, the RS*R is a quality exhaust...I have pictures somewhere with it next to the stock hunk of crap.

It's actually a vtec exhaust... i had to make it fit on my Si (shortened 3 inches and altered the holes on the flange) It doesnt say RS*R on the tip either, nope! I kinda wish it did too but oh well. And like i said yeah the tip is a little large but again oh well....

I'm anxious to get a header and hi-flow cat to hear the sound then, i think it'll sound good!

Gills--> Is that rear skirt made by Kaminari? Did it already come with the exhaust cut-out? How well did it fit?

Yes, that's a kaminari rear and the cut out was already there. It fit with the exhaust perfectly.

I have a VTEC RS*R on my Si, I didnt have to shorten it at all.

I eventually got a VTEC cat and to go with my h22, but I didnt modify the RS*R at all. I changed the flange on the Si cat so the RS*R would fit initially though.

Yep, i had to hacksaw 3" off between the resonator and the flange closest to the cat to make it line up with the hangers and fit right. And i slotted the holes in the exhaust flange inward rather than the cat (b/c it was already off the car mostly). I was under the impression that JDM exhausts had to be shortened b/c JDM cats were shorter therefore resulting in longer exhaust pipes. Did you get yours after they offered them in the US now? if not then i have no idea.
