Well, I woke up this morning to the sound of my phone ringing. It was th bodyshop telling me my car was ready. They replaced the whole front bumper cover. They also shaved my front "H" symbol... FOR FREE I was surprised at how they eliminated the hood/bumper gap that is usually present on 4th Gens... Here is a pic from this afternoon at my friends house.
That was quick as hell. I'm guessing you know you got the hook ups? theres no way you could get your car back that fast from a body shop.

Very nice!!! I would paint those vents some other color...The gray looks crap on the red cars...I think black or red would do the trick!!! Just a suggestion!
Contrary to popular belief, I dont have hookups at the bodyshop I use. They just work very fast. If any of you guys took your car in, they would have in back in a week max. Last time I got work done (repair smashed hood, repair gash in rear 1/4 panel, and repaint whole rear bumper) I got it back in 72 hours. I'm telling you guys... if you can, go to my bodyshop. There info is below.

Well, most of the time I live in Long Beach because I go to CSULB. I also live in Studio City which is borderline North Hollywood. My record time making it from Long Beach to North Hollywood is 40 Minutes, but that is obviously not obeying the speed limit. I would say that from Huntington Beach, it would take an hour and a half to get to my bodyshop. Good Luck...

I have no idea how to get rid of the gap. My bodyshop guy just did it somehow. It might have to do with the placement of the latch mechanism that holds the hood down. If you can find a way to lower the latch mechanism, that would probably lower the front of the hood and reduce the gap.
Did you get your whole car re-painted? It looks damn good, what happened that made you need to get it re-painted. Also, how much did it cost for whatever you got re-painted?

I think i need to adjust the bumper because the hood way would cause the hood to be lower than the front 1/4 panals.
Well, I had to pay them to do more than just replace the bumper cover. They also had to repair my radiator support and passenger side headlight. The front bumper cost $242... but after all the costs of repairing the reinforcement, repairing the rad. support and all the painting. I paid $1063 total to get it all fixed up perfect.

I just got a new front bumper cover and had it painted to match the rest of my car. The paint I have on my car is what it came with...

just loosen all the main bumper bolts. 4 behind the bumper lenses and the bolts for the 2 plastic hinge things by the hood latch. Pull the bumper up and have a friend tighten everything down. then pull the part of the bumper with the emblem out or in, i forget and tighten down the plastic hinges and see if the hood lines up without the gap.
Its kinda confusing but hopefully someone can simplify it.
