Got my H22A Throttle Body Machined

As suggested by Azjs, I decided to get my TB machined. It left it with my tuner Dr Drift and he gave it to his machiner. My instructions were to bore it out with a taper to the stock butterfly. Was quized on what I wanted from it, I said throttle response in the mid range. He said he would see what he could do. He decided on a 4degree taper and measured it up and realised that it was doable . . . . just.

This is what I ended up with.

I am not sure what diametre it ended up with at the inlet. But he did a great job, the bore is smooth all the way to the butterfly. And you can really see the trumpet/tapered shape.

Install was cake. Test drive ?

MAD throttle response from 3000rpm and it really does feel like it pulls harder at the top end, a different induction sound. Almost quieter, its lost the deep burble but its a sucking sound now. Also at idle I am no longer getting my cherished hissing from my CAI and Apexi pod filter. The hiss I used to get when turning off the engine is gone now too. Guess it must point to cleaned up air flow? Along side the 4bidden short shifter this is one of the best mod's I have done that didn't cost a bomb.

I was lucky to have a spare TB so there was no down time for me. I am sure you could get one from wrecker. It cost me $100AUD.
