Glass Sunroof conversion

Well, I did my seach on the topic and it looks like 5th gen Glass sunroofs are not an exact fit for the 4 gens. Supposedly the 4th gen is more rounded when you see it from top to bottom or something . The 5th gen roof is flatter and the corners are more angular too.

I really wanna get rid of my rusty metal sunroof......So I was thinking ours may still be interchangeable with perhaps the 94-up accords or maybe the 90-93 or 94-up integras...has anyone tried swapping a glassroff from either of these??

i would be really interested in getting one if there's possibility without costing an arm and a leg, i knew that there used to be a company in Australia making them but they discontinued it, i also saw a listing on ebay a year or two ago but i lost the bid (auction ended at the time i worked)

woo, another Miami person

Man, I think it would get too hot inside the car, even if it has a really dark tint... Maybe if you made a custom cover for the inside it could work.

It'll look cool as hell if done.

When I plan to do mine, most likely I'm gonna go the darkest tint possible, maybe even complete black since I only want glass since it doesn't rust

I'd love to have a full glass roof, like the JDM CRXs had...

Funny you all mention this. I was just thinking of this today, and wondering if this conversion was possible to complete. If this is feasible and we have the ability to do this, would we have to remove our sunroof entirely? I want to look into this, because that would be a nice change.

Yeah yeah. I know its a moonroof, I just was too lazy to edit back.

What the hell is the different anyways? I was told a sunroof goes back into the roof and a moonroof goes up above it.

I hope you're referring to the 5th gen as a moonroof...

Moonroof is transparent (glass) sunroof is not (metal or fiberglass or whatever.)

well, i guess for starters we'll have to measure our sunroof and compare the measurements to the ones of an accord, a teg, or maybe even a civic's moonroof, if they ever had one.

An easier way to find a match might be to find out the part # for our roof, then try a dealer to see if it is the same part # for another model. Their parts catalogue usually says if one part is used for various cars etc

I would think that one from a 5th gen accord (94-97) would work. We need to take measurements on a few Honda/Acura moonroofs to see if they would fit in our 4th gen ludes.

The last few glass roofs I saw on ebay were sold by this guy: http://sunroofdoctor.com/

I HIGHLY doubt you will find another honda/acura part to replace it. Keep in mind that nearly every other model had a sunroof that retracts INSIDE the roof, so the mounting and motorization are likely totaly different.
