Ghost Gauge Needle ??

My speedometer needle jumps on its own. I could be at a stop light or even driving at a moderate speed when all of a sudden the needle goes all the way up to 60 and above for a few seconds then drops back down but the engine is not revving just the needle .

Has anybody had this problem or know how to fix it

You've just achieved warp speed.

The answer to your question can be found in a search because I've seen it 3 or 4 times answered, I'm just too lazy to search for u, sorry.

Hey,

I had a similar problem. It started as the needle kind of dancing and progressed to it just being stuck at 20 mph. I ended up going out and getting a new gauge cluster and that fixed it. I think it could be either the speedo control board or the needle pot. I would also check to see if it is your Vehical Speed Sensor as well.

HTH

i have a new speed sensor for sale if you want it. your problem is either your speed sensor or the harness on it is loose. try tightening the harness on it and if it dont then connectors in the sensor are probabbly deteriorating. the SAME exact thing happened to me. i got the sensor though (160 from dealer, ouch!) and it ended up being my harness. little duct tape and it was like new! email or msg me if you want the sensor ill give it to you for 90$ plus shipping. brand new in package honda oem.
