Ghetto Intake

I took out the rubber boot that connects the filter box to the duct work and goes through the inner fender. This increased the sound of my car, to levels I have heard on cars w/ aftermarket intakes installed. I'm not sure if it increased power, I doubt it.

I don't know if this has been posted, but I did this to my car to see what happens. All I can say is it puts a smile on my face

so you have an otherwise stock intake except for the fact that you have disconnected the airbox from the resonator in the fender. While this may give you some gains since the air doesnt have to go through the elaborate maze of passages that is the resonator, you are now sucking in hot air from under the hood.

What I would do is take out the resonator completely and then hook the stock airbox back up to the hole that leads to the fenderwell. This way you circumvent the resonator and still get nice cool air from outside the engine bay.
