No its not going to be red , fades too easily. Im thinking metallic black with a dash of sparkles...What about you guys ? Im also considering getting the wings west add on kit too. Show me some custom color 4th gens if you can. Thanks.
Just got mine painted San Marino and it guaranteed for 7 years! Go red with some one notable. If you are stuck on not going red, I think your looking for the color GUN METAL. If I had the extra money to go custom thats what I would do.
Pics will be up in a week or so of my lude so your welcome to see them at that time.

I hate red, but I've grown to love it so much on my car. I'm torn as to what to do on my car, when it comes time to do my bodywork. *sigh* Personally, I like the black/blue combo that Coil22 had on his prelude.

I'm personally biased towards the red. I think you should just repaint it the stock red and call it a day.
If red is properly taken care of you will not have the fading problem. Like your car my car had faded in certain areas - mainly the plastic pieces like the mirrors and trunk trim. The cause for the fading mirrors and trunk trim is due to waxing. They are merely colored plastic and were not painted. The wax reacts with the plastic and throw in a little sunlight and you get pink.
I had my mirrors painted when I remodeled the car and now I can wax them as much as I want and not have to worry about them turning pink.
As for the rest of the car, if you regularly polish and wax the car it will not turn pink. The polish is the key component because it replenishes the paint with the oils necessary to keep the paint looking fresh and clean.
I think you definitely should stick with some sort of red unless you are planning on stripping the entire car (gutting the engine and all wires out of the bay, stripping the interior, and trunk compartment. Think of how your car would look when you pop the hood and see a red compartment. That kind of bothers me a little when I see a bay that is a different color than the body.
Red does cost a little more for insurance because it visually stands out among all other colors. But that is what I love about a red car. My car just stands out against all the black and silver which seems to overrun our highways. Red is a breath of fresh air to me and when it is clean and freshly waxed the car just looks "devilish".
Just my opinions, but good luck with whatever you choose.
