short answer: you cant

Long answer: you can spend lots of money trying to combat theft, but if someone wants your can bad enough, its theirs. Stopping petty theft is fairly simple, it just requires of knowledge of how to slow people down. Detering professional car theft/robbery, however, is damn hard to do.

Best tips:
  • Buy a nice alarm (not a keyless entry system with a siren from Best Buy)
  • Back up the Siren
  • Put the alarm brain ANYWHERE BUT under the steering column
  • Use common sense with what you leave in plain view
  • Never assume your car is safe because you aheva n alarm

shock sensors are cool but most of the time they're just annoying... i got myself a lo jack and an auto lock on top of the alarm... i think that unless they have a tow truck it'll be a little bit hard to jack the car itself... stealing something inside is another story though...

Buy a pager alerter that can be hookd up with your alarm system, so when someone tries to break into ur car...the pager will let you know...if you interested, i know a guy who sells this thing and he will hook you up for less than $60. i have one myself and its pretty good to know that you can be alerted if your car is being jacked

The pager can be installed as a stand-alone unit or hooked up with your alarm system. The pager will alert you when someone is trying to break into your car, the pager it self is about a lighter-size that can be attached with your keychain, so its pretty small. The system comes with:

- Pager
- Sensor unit ( this one will be installed in your car)
- all cables required

this set only cost about $60 + shipping. For installation, just go to circuit city and ask the car audio guys to hook it up for you. About $55 fee . lemme know if you're interested, my email is sales@tranceporting.com . i will order it for you...hope this info helps

peace

Another thing park your car where its well lit and never leave anything you want stolen in the open like on your seat, or removing the faceplate

To be perfectly honest, who really pays attention to an alarm when its going off??? There are no unstoppable alarms, all a theif has to do is break the window pop the hood and disconnect the battery. Then they find the alarm power cable going to the battery, cut that, reconnect the battery and drive away with your car.

The best way to prevent your car from getting stolen is to buy a $50 clutch lock from your local Autozone or Pepboys etc and install that. Its like The Club, but for your clutch, they work well. Another easy and effective solution is a fuel cutoff switch. If this switch is effectively hidden, there is no way for a theif to drive off with your car.

If a theif wants whats inside your car, they will get it, for the most part, but these 2 easy solutions that cost under $100 are very effective so that the theif will NOT be able to steal your car.

Like everyone said if a professional thief wants yer car he's gonna get it. Just get a basic alarm and maybe use a club or something in mall parking lots.

In that case the best thing to do is to prevent theft. The Sleeper look is one way or just simply not getting into big wings, body kits, flashy lighting, stickers and anything else that draws lots of attention.

Another thing is to not show off your car to people you don't know well. Most of the thefts occur from people who know what you got in yer car.

on our racecar, we have a Merit switch. . .its a safety item. It gets installed on teh main battery power wire. It basically has a "key" , and if you take the key out, the car WILL NOT fuction. Its designed so that if you wreck in a race, officials can shut the car down quickly, but you could hide it.

I'm going to put a kill switch in line with the power to the coil, and hide it very well.. A friend of mine had a chevy pickup with one of these, and one day he woke up to the sound of a truck that wouldn't start... so he goes running outside with a baseball bat and the rest is history! (along with the guy's front teeth, shins, forearms ect)

I was on a VW board and heard about a cool solution. This guy installed a magnetic switch in line with the ignition and hid it behind the dash, right in the middle. Then he took a refridgerator magnet and glued a little VW emblem to one side of it. He kept the magnet in his cupholder or coin dish, and in order to start the car, you had to place the magnet over the switch. So you couldnt start the car without A) knowing where the magnet was kept B) knowing EXACTLY where behind the dash the switch was located.

Get that "tecniq" hub that lets u take off the steering wheel...and the connecting pins are unique..so no one can just slap on any momo wheel on and drive away...unless they have a flat bed
