i have a h22a1 with 117k miles on it and there is a deal i can get on a h22a type S engine with 10,000 miles on it for like 3 grand.. and im thinking about getting it.. but I wanted to see your input if you guys think my engine will stay strong for awhile, or if I should invest in the type S engine.. and also what you think i will be runnin in the 1/4 mile.. u can see what mods i have in my sig... peace
if you take that 3grand and put it into your motor and build it up especially replacing piston rings and stuff like water pump and all gaskets because of the mileage you will blow the doors of a type s motor
because it does have upgraded cams and pistons and a better throttle body and intake manifold but the upgrade on all of these are minor you can buy parts for the same price just about that are much better or more agressive that will give you alot better gains
i agree with ViZ, unless you want bragging rights to say you have a Type S engine, you won' t be the first 4th gen with a type S, and to gain 15-20 extra horsepower to the crack isn't that great. I mean you can get more out of after market Cam, cam gear, intake head and exhuast and it would prob get the same numbers as a type S, if anything rebuilt that engine and tose in Type S parts

to the crack, which crack? hehe, jus messin with ya. anyways, rather than invest 3 gran into the type s motor. i can see a better investment in a jdm h22a and upgrade the cams and valvetrain with crower or skunk 2. probably end up running you a bit more money, but in the long run i think you would be more satisfied.
hahahahhahahahha OWNED.. ohh yah whick crack ???AHAHAHHAHAHAH... anyways u got owned hein... I love my Type S motor and it runs like crazy .. i got 195whp with basic after market parts .. hmmm MidNKight-lude knows .... but hey dont waste your money on it just get Jun Cams kit and u can beat my Type s and ur hp will go over 200whp... the reason why i bougth my Type S cos i blew my h23... I'm still thinking to replace my Type S cams with Jun cams kit.. U wanna buy it hehehehe ???
i would just take that 3k and put it into your h22

Spend the money to build the motor for nitrous and run A large shot. that will surely be a better investment than the type s motor. just my opinion..Later
save up as much as you can and build the motor up for either na or fi...i would go for a turbo build up but if you arent looking for fi i would rebuild your motor with upgraded parts...you have the h22, does it matter if its JDM or not? dont buy a new h22 thats 1200 wasted
Buy the Type S. All of the rebuild & parts costs will go way over 3G's, and w/ the Type S, you'll have a basically fresh engine.
