Gear box/clutch prob. Help

Has anyone expirenced the problem of getting their car into gear while at stand still. Here is the deal. I have been using an ACT clutch kit for the past 6 months. However, the release bearing supplied with the kit went bad and I decided to re-install the original honda bearing. Since then I have been having problems with gear selection when the car is not in motion. To select any gear extreme force has to be used for it to slip in.

Has anyone used the stock release bearing with an ACT pressure plate?? Could this be my prob., or what else could it be???

that is your problem! Factory Release bearing will not work with ACT clutch. My suggestion (based on personal experience) STAY AWAY from ACT!!

eh.... i thought ACT was amazing too when i first got the clutch; It grabbed hard and all but i'm starting to experience the same problem as mentioned before.... my throw out bearing is going i think b/c it makes funny little chirping noises when the clutch isn't engaged....i'm not sure what other clutches are good b/c i never tried it first hand but all i'm saying is that ACT clutches do grab nice and hard but you mite face a problem with the throw out bearing... thanx

uh, ACT is shipping with a OEM bearing. That was a problem in the past ... about 3 years ago actually..

If you just had the bearing replaced have your shop check the connections where the shift cables attach to your tranny.

The "linkage box" (I can't remember what its called) sometimes get's put back in with the "levers" jammed.. I had the same problem the first time. Just have them pull it off an make sure it everything is lined up and moves properly when they put it back in before hooking up the cables..

You have to remove the "linkage box" it - the problem is inside.
