Gauges/Pods - attn: 93si4ws, phatfarm, or 93SRVMAN

hey guys,

i want to know where you got your gauges, and pods. Im trying to find an online store that sells them, preferably the phantom gauge set. Im looking into the Air/Fuel and Oil with dual pods.
If not dual then i can settle for the 3 pod, and add the water temp gauge.

Also these gauges you can not see at night right? only the air/fuel one, since it is lighted.

I used the search and i found that you guys had gauges so i figured id ask you

Thanks a lot guys....

peace!

check ebay. really, i saw one lot of 6 or so guages go for the price of one retail!!

for the pods you can try summitracing.com. they carry autometer, and im told that there is a g4 prelude application now

in the day we ol heads toughed it with g4 accord pods.

the black ones smell, i think. they all have backlights but the black face makes it harder. i have ultralite series and the light is dim but fine for me to see with.

make your decision on mechanical or electrical oil press guage. the mechanical will be more acurate but the install is a little more messy. although i cannot tell you about the electrical since i've always installed mechanical units on cars.

the a/f guage, all you see at night is the led moving around. some say its annoying, i can't even see it anymore i just phase it out. but it has been extremely useful in diagnosing some problems i've had. good tool.

the oil press i can't really see it being to useful, if pressure drops below 7psi wtf are you gonna do. its already too late. my recommendation is an oil cut off switch from summitracing.com. this is connected like the factory oil press sensor. i have one attached to a 4 way junction box for my oil. when the switch sees less than 10 psi(i think, i'll have to recheck) it shuts off the motor.

i already have 2 switches concealed under my dash to turn off ignition and the fuel pump for safety and theft reasons although they wont do too much to a thief.

anywho, i've sidetracked haven't i

I think I read this somewhere on PO.com, a few times, but aren't all of the guage pods by Autometer backordered throughout the entire country?

Hey guy. ya i got a water temp & oil pressure. I have the UltraLite series. They are sweet. I would say that these are the 2 best guages 2 get IMO if you are NA. I just got the guage pod from a place in local toronto area. It was not that expensive.

When you get the water temp guage let me know. I have an awesome way of hookin these up like nobody else has done before!

I basically tapped the Engine Coolant bolt at the back of the block and put my sender in the bolt. Took it too a machine shop, gave the guy a pack of smokes for him to drill and thread the bolt for the size that I needed. I just got a new bolt and washer from honda. it was like 10 bucks.

yaya, the pic's are not the best, but you get the idea. This is the cleanest install method I know of so far, I hate that method of tapping into the thin aluminium neck that the upper rad hose attach's too.

Ohh and I got Electrical gauges, they seem to be pretty accurate, I cant be bothered with mechanical and I dont want hot oil spurting all over the place in my car! haha

hey buddy, if you over 3000 RPM and your oil is under 50 PSI dont you think you have already caused damage? The minimun PSI for 3000 rpm and above should be 50 psi. Correct?

I wanted to do that also, with the autoshut off, but ran into that problem.

this im not sure. i was speaking of idle oil pressure. there shouldn't be a problem with the cutoff switch. like i said i think its 10 psi, you would see 10 psi unless you're at idle, and it dips below that. or you snap your crankshaft like someone i know did or spin bearings, blah blah blah. figure this, the factory oil pressure indicator lamp...idiot light...will illuminate when it sees 7psi or below...by that time its too late. but when have you ever seen the idiot lamp light up other than when you start up?
