Gasket question....

Sup peeps,

Got a couple questions here...

1.) Does the DC Ceramic header use stock metal o-ring gaskets, in between the header and the downpipe?

2.) Are the stock gaskets in between the downpipe and CAT and in between the CAT and the exhaust pipe (after CAT) o-rings as well or are they triangle shaped gaskets?

Thanks.

PS- If you guys are wonder wtf is going on with my car, I am just going through an overhaul.

o rings

yeah i have a dc stainless setup the o rings in the exhaust manifold are two smaller size rings with insulation in them the down pipe has one larger o ring the fits between the down pipe and the cat my invidia cat back exhaust came with a gasket for after the cat back but so does the stock one as well depending on youre cars age that ring was curshed and completly gone so I would not recommend re using them....
p.s. the hardest part is breaking thos rusty a@# bolts off holding the stock exhaust on ...

I believe the O-ring gaskets are designed to crush and flatten as soon you install them and tighten the bolts.

and you are correct sir. Just like drain plug o-rings are designed to crush and form to the surface of the oil pan.

Where can replacement o-rings or cursh-rings be acquired for the DC header? i 'll have to remove my stock cat shortly and replace it with test pipe or hi-flow and its better to get a new gasket than reuse the one thats already crushed.

I'm sure a muffler shop would have them to fit, as the pipe sizes must be of a standard size, or you could try DC, I'd *like* to think they'd send you a set for free.

re: dc

yeah right dc was combined with aem and they will do nothing for ya --- a muffler shop would be an excellent choice to find the rings ---
