gas/temp gauge problem

I have a 92 Si with a JDM swap and manual conversion. I'm having issues with the digital gas/temp gauge. They randomly go out then come back on. Not like when I hit a bump or beat on the top of the dash.

So I want to take the dash apart and fix it, but first I was wondering if anyone came across this problem before. I'm hoping its just a wiring or bulb issue...but something could be shorting them out.

Thanks for any help!

I had this problem before. It might be the same for your car. Whenever I would shift into reverse or sometimes randomly my gas and temp guage would turn off. Then it would turn back on right away. It started to get worse aftertime untill it turned off and never turned back on. I think it was my accessory wire. It's the wire that powers on when you turn the ignition to on but don't start the car. I'd double check that before you tear anything out. The wire might be pinched or being pulled on.

Thanks! I'll definately start at the fuse box and see if the previous owner ran an accessory wire anywhere.
