of course it is important.. but not that important... try to buy one now...

My gf experienced before. She didn't know until next refill time. She was so scared when she opened the gas door and saw no cap on. She was driving that car with no gas cap for almost 1.5 weeks. lol......

Anyway, it is not really big deal... just try to get one ASAP.

it does hold pressure, but that won't screw up anything.. in fact, it should be better coz without the cap on, you are actually equalize the inner pressure and outer pressure. So your car won't suck the fuel and create vacuum in the tank...

correct me if you think i am wrong.

Umm i don't think so, the gas tank has a check valve vent.

I think the danger is if the fumes ignite. Don't park it in an enclosed area and stay away from sparks and flames.

leave it on the little carrier thing on the inside of the door, so if you forget to screw it on/close the fuel door it'll still be there

It is very dangerous! All it takes is one little spark and you'll have a fire, and possibly an explosion.

In the winter the air can be VERY dry, and it doesn't much of a spark to combust the fumes.

your fuel economy will go down also because it can evaporate a litle easier.. in my truck someone stole my gas cap and i noticed after a hard turn and a stop i smelled gass got out and there was gas on the side of the truck from it spilling out
