full lighting upgrade

I'm interested in getting brighter lights all around my car, but I've got a few questions.

First of all, I'm not exactly sure what bulbs I need, I've searched and found different answers. I've got a '93 and I need info for just about everything but the headlights.

Secondly, I came across a thread that talked about a 9005->9006 conversion, can anyone tell me what that involves, and whether it's worth the trouble or not?

Finally, I hear a lot of talk about LED bulbs, are those only useful for people with clear corners, or can they also compete with the super bright 'traditional' bulbs and be useful to someone with stock lenses?

when you mean full upgrade your definition is?

you want HID? or you want just want to change the bulbs? if so, for 4th gen, your low beam is 9006, and high beam is 9005

To find what bulbs you need, you can go to http://www.led.net and they have a little app that tells you the bulb specs on any car. As far as the LEDs all around, I am planning on doing that too. They will be brighter and light up faster than the normal ones. Also, the lenses don't matter. As far as headlight conversions go, don't waste yout time, money and effort going from 9006 to 9005. Do the H4 conversion (those are the bulbs required for the JDM one-peice headlights) Those are very bright. Or you could go HID. I am actually planning on doing this as well but i gotta wait till I get tha cash...I just shelled out for my custom cat back, muffler and front pipe (500 bucks) so I'm a little short. I am also plaing on getting little tiney LED bulbs to fill the entire tail light (kinda like the Cadilac and the Q35 do) but thats a huge project for summer time when I have an extra pair of headlights to experement with Good luck and lemme know how it turns out. No HIDs for me just yet, I'm saving for a huge audio upgrade at the moment. I think I will go ahead with the H4 conversion, just follow the jdm wiring writeups right? LEDs sound like what I was hoping for too, can you point me towards some good brands/places to shop?

You can't simply replace your 9006 bulbs with H4 bulbs. The bulb holders are totally different.

If you replace your USDM headlights with JDM headlights then you have to replace the bulbs with H4's because that is what they use.

Don't even bother converting to H4's in the USDM's because they are no brighter than the 9006's. A total waste of money if you ask me.

If you are looking to upgrade and get a little more visibility on the road at night then upgrade to superwhites. I used Polarg superwhites and noticed a increase in visibility right off the bat. You can get matching superwhites for every other bulb on your Prelude (both front turn signals, headlight corner lamps, rear buper lights, and the tail light turn signals if you cleared your tail lights.
