Fuel upgrades after aspiration mods?

After installing intake/header/exhaust, your engine runs slightly lean -- am i correct? What would be the best method to tune the engine with these mods to get the air/fuel back to where it should be? Adjustable fuel pressure regulator? Apex-i S-AFC? Both? Neither? Keep in mind i plan to run a 50-shot of nitrous later down the line and would like to provide for adjustablitiy for that now. Also, i'd like to beef up my ignition system. Any suggestions? Im looking into the MSD SCI w/rev limiter and maybe that multi-strap ground thingy that ive been seeing all over the place now. Feedback please. And I know aftermarket ignition systems really dont increase power and are pretty much pointless if you arent turbo so dont tell me that. If for nothing else, i want it just for under-hood looks and to add to my list of mods to make it look more interesting and impressive. Lame, maybe so...but who really cares? im open for suggestions about the fuel and ignition stuff...thanks!

Stock ECU's actually run a tad on the rich side. I dont thing doing just basic bolt-ons would take it to far from the factory values in the ecu. Here is some info about the things you are considering.

Apexi SAFC is a nice addition, and is valueable down the line when you want to do more to the engine, and actually need to be able to control fuel. The SAFC is always a good idea, and with basic bolt-one you could lean out the top rev range about 4% across the board. This would gain you some extra power. As always, you will get the most from the SAFC if you can get it dyno tuned. Adding in an FPR is good for finer tuning's sake, but not 100% neccesary.

As for ignition, I would go with the MSD-6A, or the MSD-6AL. The 6AL just adds the soft touch rev limit control. It should be more than enough for your ignition needs. Although adding an ignition will not add that much power, it will ensure a complete burn of the A/F mix, and helps keep the engine running smoother. Oh and don't bother getting those grounding kits, they really aren't worth it. Also, you won't need to replace ignition wires unless yours are faulty or damaged (you didn't mention new wires, but Im just throwing that in.)

Hope I helped

I have the MSD 6AL, Blaster 2 coil, and MSD wires...if i saw any differnce it would probably be a lil lower idle, but thats all.

You have to have some serious mods to really notice the effects of a better ignition. But it is a nice thing to have, and you can safely say that you have our ignition bases covered.

yeah i had to replace my plugs and wires just recently cuz my car was missing really bad. like, everytime i accelerated, there would be a moment of lost power then right back on it again whether i was pushing it or not. once i replace the plug wires, all gone...never missed again. also i just bought a new bad-a$$ battery cuz my old one died. so now im all about what else i can do to the ignition system. so we're thinking an MSD-6AL, MSD blaster 2 coil, and apex-i SAFC? sounds good to me. thanks!
