fuel thing

i was driving home today (in my 95 si) and i noticed like kind of under and inside my tach, it said, "premium unleaded fuel only" and i never noticed this before. is this just a reminder, or is it telling me i'm using the wrong kind of fuel. that wouldn't make sense because i only use 93 octane. if it really means i'm using the wrong fuel, what do i do? move up to 104 octane?

It always says premium unleaded only on the tach. It says this because Preludes have a higher than regular compression ratio. Its not that high though. I usally use premium(91 octane) but I have used regular before with no problem. 9.8:1 is not that high of a comp ratio.

You're fine using 93 octane. You just don't want to be using 87 or anything like that. I can't even get anything higher then 93 where I live.

I wish I could get 93... All we have in SoCal is 91 octane piss water.... Although, you can get 108 at the airport... only $2.60/gal... too bad its like a 50 gal minimum.

Dude you get 104 from the PUMP? or you put a bottle of bull**** 104 octane boost in? In Toronto we have Ultra 94. Its 94 octane from Sunoco. I know Sunoco does or did have a program in place where at some selected stations in the USA they offered race gas at the pump 100+ octane gas.

Don't use octane booster with a stock motor. Its a waste of money and your plugs will foul out faster. Just run premium and you should be ok.
