fuel filter

how hard is it to change the fuel filter? when it comes to the fuel pressured lines and stuff i don't like to dive right into doing it but i want to change my fuel filter and it's a lot cheaper when i do my own work. what are the steps involved in this procedure so i can see if it's worth doing myself or not.

thanks for the help.

its easy, only 2 lines running to it. open the gas cap to relieve some fuel pressure. loosen the nuts on the lines w/ an open ended wrench, pliars can get tricky and u may strip the bolts. u will get some fuel spray so just loosen them slowly and let it leak out. once its done leaking, completely loosen the nuts.

then just just unbolt the filter holder from the firewall and pull the filter off.

do the opposite to install it.

installing the new one was a bit tricky for me cuz it didnt want to move back to where it goes.

would it help to pull the fuel pump fuse and run the fuel line empty to relieve pressure from the fuel filter?

Hey,
Using an AEM fuel filter would work. I plan to buy one as soon as I get money. The only real difference is the way it connects up. Our connectors are both on top of the filter, but the new ones are seperated, one on top and one onbottom. All you have to do is buy an adapter that screws into the stock bolt, and connect it to some Steel braided line, and run it where it needs to go. Runnin that, 550cc injectors, STR fuel rail, and Paxton FPR...I can't wait and... of course hondata
