Front seat removal?

Hello. I recently purchased a 96 Prelude S, and I want to shampoo the entire carpet. I'd like to remove the front seats. I've never removed the seats on any car, and I'd greatly appreciate if someone could tell me what I need to do.

Thanks,
Del

4 bolts, one at each corner. My 94 vtec had a plug for the seatbelt underneath the driver side, so don't forget about that.

Pull the seats up to remove the 2 12mm rear bolts. Push the entire seat back forthe front 2 14mm bolts. It's very easy, much easier than taking out legend seats. .

when you take them out make sure to fold the backrest toward the back. they are much easier to get out that way.

The two 12mm bolts have a thread locker on them, but the 14mm ones don't. I don't know why this is, but be careful not to round the harder-to-pull 12mm bolt heads!

You will have to unplug the seatbelt wiring harness under the driver's seat. I leave mine unplugged all the time so it doesn't make that annoying beep.

Also, the carpet is difficult to remove without cutting it, since it loops over the center console a couple of times and around behind the stereo.

Congrats on the new lude!

Dan

When you start the car before putting on your seatbelt.
