Front and Rear Sway Bars

I changed my rear one today to a lightspeed one. I also have the front one.

Anyone know what size is the stock front one? i mite just leave it stock. any advantages changing it to a aftermarket one?

I would say leave it stock...the cars handling characteistics with a 25mm rear bar are just perfect IMO

That would be me, muhahahahaha... twice, and I hope to keep it at two times. I beat the ever-living hell out of it on the Bay Area Preludes' Mt. Hamilton run, and that proved to me that my girlfriend's father, who welded the bracket back on, the second time, is a Godsend to me. Thank you, Roger!! He also made me realize that you really can't count out the guys who work out of their own garages, or shacks...

Get down and dirty, baby!!!

no its the sway bar. its under your car in the front. stock comes with a front and a rear one. when u replace it with a thicker one then u can turn better

Did you like the handling charateristics of the 28mm Neuspeed bar?

That's funny I meant a guy in the Toronto Prelude Club...TWICE AS WELL hehe...

Sounds like a common problem, hence the discontinuation of the product.

How will a lower tie bar keep a 28mm sway bar from tearing out? Please explain

Yes, please explain, Rybred... Neuspeed knew they'd have problems w/ the 28mm bar on street-driven cars. It was intended for use ONLY on track cars that were properly reinforced. Unfortunately, I found this out after the fact, twice. Neuspeed wasn't doing any warranty work, or reimbursing people, either.

Red92Si, I DEFINATELY LOVE the handling I have w/ the bar. It ripped out twice, but it's fixed now, and the only thing I'd get rid of the bar for is an authentic Spoon c/f lip, hehe.

OK...maybe i'm thinking of something else that breaks under there when you add a rear sway bar without a lower tie bar(figuring you drive the **** out of it)...got that from automotiveforums.com i think...i'm gonna go back and re-read that! It seems like that's what your talkin about! it's from one of the moderators there! oh well, if i'm wrong,so solly!

I'm the guy who Satan_SRV is talking I actually tore out my bar more than twice, 3 times actually. First time I pulled the bolts out of the frame rail. I weled the bolts back in and then proceeded to tear out again..

So I went for what I thought would be a more permenent solution and physically welded the bracket to the frame rail. Much to my dismay later that week I checked and found my bracke dangeling once again with a rectangular chunk of metal attached to it....torn right out of the frame..

I ended up welding 1/4" thick steel plate to the lower rail and a matching one on the floor inside the trunk and then I bolted the bracket right through the trunk using 7" long 1/2" dia. bolts. It' hasnt' given me problems since.

No amount of Upper strut or lower Tie bar will prevent this tear out in any way..

If you have the means to reinforce the frame for a 28mm bar I would say that it is by far the best handleing modification for the dollar you can get.. alternatively just get the 25mm bar It's works well too..
