front liscense plate frame removal question

ummmm how do you do it? I tried removing the bolts or screws whichever they are and they just spin. Do I have to take off the bumper or something?

Take off the plate. There are two screws holding the the unit to the bumper... just unscrew those and it should come right off. Mine came right off, and you do not have to take off the bumper.

if its just spinning, then the part inside could be loose and just spins too when you turn the bolt. I think you could probably get it off correctly by taking off the bumper, then taking the support out and holding the other side while turning the front, but a much easier way would be to just hack it off which is what I did.

Yeah, got TWO tickets for mine until I gave in and put mine on... got them at work; when I quit that job I'm taking the plate off.

If the screws are spinning, then it means the two metal clamps (can't remember the proper terminology) have come off the bumper. You could probably pull it off without much effort, in that case.

All you should have to do is remove the two screws under the plate housing, and it comes off.

I haven't gotten a ticket yet . I have driven behind cops and they have done nothing. I think maybe it's because they are too lazy to pull me over. Is it a non-moving violation or? How much will the ticket cost and does it go on your driving record?
