Front bumper cover sagging

There's about a 1/2 inch gap between my headlights and the front bumper cover. I also noticed that there are 3 holes under the headlights on each side that are missing some kind of screw. I don't see how those screws would pull the bumper up though.

When I took my front bumper off to install the fog lights there was a little more gap on the passenger side. Maybe 3/8"

I took the bumper off and thought of it as a good way to readjust the bumper. When I put it all back together I just pushed the bumper cover where it needed to go and tightened all the bolts. It worked like a charm. Everything is straight now.

Usually the problem is more with a bent secure arm from being in little fender benders. Without getting the bent pieces straight you are usually just out of luck. You can try what I did and see if it helps.

How difficult is it to straighten the secure arm? Would I be better off buying new ones?

It is a steel rod that runs through the front frame of the car. If it isn't bent bad I could see you getting it straight. It is all one piece with the front beam so it might be pretty pricey to get a new one.

This is the diagram for the front bumper.

It is number six and looks to be a little over 200 bucks.

worst idea ever.

If you want to straighten it use a longer steel tube. to straighten it where it is bent. Just run the tube down where the bend is and straighten.

Using hammers will usually make it worse.

Have you checked to make sure the bolts and nuts are still secure that hold the bumper in place?

I have not attempted to take the front bumper off yet. It is only being held on by the two ends near the fender. The rest of the bolts and nuts holding it was ripped off during an accident. I guess i"m going to have to buy a new one.

Ummm... I would presume your problem is that most of the bolts are missing. Why not just go buy some new bolts, push the bumper to where it fits snug, and then install the bolts you are missing.

They are just little plastic screws that go under the headlights and do not help support the bumper cover on the bumper at all. I would suggest taking off all 6 bolts that hold on the bumper. Then position it better and tighten it down. The 4 bolts that you get at from the front of the car bolt into a slot more than a hole so there is room for adjustment.
