Found a JDM Prelude Parts GOLDMINE!!!

I have been searching for a JDM VTEC EL Gauge cluster all over the place (I'm going to try to just use the faces/needles in a USDM EL Gauge Cluster Housing). All I could find was the very few that popped up on eBay every so often.

Well, I decided to just google "prelude gauge cluster" and one of the results was from a Redstone Motors Online site. Well, I've been talking to one of the guys from there on AIM and he had the gauge cluster I was looking for for $39.95. He informed that he had 4 other JDM BB4 Preludes! He asked if I needed anything else from a JDM BB4. I told him I still needed the inverter box (been looking everywhere) and the dimmer unit/relay. I showed him pictures of the parts and he went and picked the parts from the car at that very moment, took pictures, and sent them to me. He's throwing the inverter box and dimmer unit/relay in for free!

Here's the pictures that he sent me:

I thought it was just awesome how the guy could pull parts and show me with pictures on the spot.

He also sent me pictures of the exterior of a Silver JDM BB4 that he had just bought for parts. I lost the pictures. But it did have the JDM AERO MAGIC LIP!!! (he won't take $75 shipped for it btw lol)

So, just putting this out there. They are just a shop (not a big online business) and he'd like to get some of his prelude parts moving.

Again, he has 4 or 5 JDM Preludes to pull parts from and he's great with pricing. I talked to Graham on AIM (Downeybear1).

If you need anything from a JDM Prelude (like a single JDM fog cover or tweeter switch, or folding mirrors!), here's their website:

They get back to you quickly when they're there. It's just a perfomance shop, so they have work to do and customers to tend to. I'd call them. They answer everytime I've called (haven't answered everything I IM them).

BTW, let me know what kind price he wants for that lip. I was hoping he had no clue what he had haha and tried to get it for a steal. I said $75 shipped and he said "sorry, im looking for a good bit more than that". So, I'm thinking like $200 or so.

just read this real quick and i'd figure id give you the heads up that the jdm cluster doesnt fit very well at all in a usdm prelude.. the face like curves the wrong way(if you know what i mean) and the inverter wires have to be extended to reach behind the driver side tweeter( which in a jdm prelude is to the right of the gauge but in a usdm its on the left).. a buddy of mine just tried to do this but when he cut the wires to extend the inverter, after he reconnected him the gauges didnt work anymore.. so my idea was to use the jdm like faceplate piece(that has the km/h and tach numbers and stuff) and just screw that into a usdm gauge housing(which i think you mentioned doing).. newayz, just thought id give you the heads up.. and when you install them, could you like write down which wire you connect to which wire.. ive done a lot of reading on it and its just too damn confusing.. and if you end up getting it to work then post up what you did to get everything right.. and ill buy a set for my car and my buddies

Well you should pay them a visit and take some pix of what all they got for us haha.

Swarzy, yeah, I sure hope just putting the faces/needles in the USDM housing will work. I have USDM EL Gauge Cluster right here, but the speedo needle is messed up and it's not a VTEC cluster. So, I'm going to try to sway in the JDM VTEC gauge faces/needles. Really hope it works out.

^^^^^^^ they should... i dont see why not.. the needles should be a direct swap, the gauge plates might need small modification, if any.. but not 100%sure

Talked to him last night on AIM. He updated me on shipment of my cluster. VERY STAND UP guy.

Anyone know of the JDM dash harness could work on a USDM lude? I know the dash is RHD, but I wonder if it can just be "flipped". The layout should be the same shouldn't it?

EDIT: pic was requested to be taken down

ill have to ask about the harness too. wouldnt hurt to try the harness (although im not afraid to solder either)

i dont even think he drives that silver lude...it's one he's parting out. he showed me a JDM ITR and Silvia he has too, but cant post those pictures. he's thinking about importing a rhd lude just to drive for himself though he said.

He told me he had a silver prelude coming in next week with an aftermarket lip he would hold for me . . . so I'm assuming it might be that car (?)

Yes, most likely. The Silver Prelude with the Aero Magic lip is a lude he just purchased. He said he should have it Friday I think. And I asked him about the price, he said he was looking for $199.95. That is not bad at all for something so rare. If I had the cash, it would have been mine already

Good luck on it.

The one in the picture isn't an Aero Magic though (?) Looks like a spoon/siebon/replica.

Oh yeah, he showed me the other silver prelude he had. It's this other one that has the Aero Magic Lip. I didn't save the picture and already closed the IM, sorry. But, I'm definite it's the Aero Magic lip. It's a prelude he just bought and is about to get in. That's silver one I posted a picture of is one he has already with a spoon lip.
