I am looking to go turbo on my 94 2.2. Has anyone done this? My first major roadblock is relocating the power steering cooler. If someone undertook this project did you relocate the unit or just remove it? Give me some tips as to which way you went on this particular step. Any information that anyone can provide me would be greatly appreciated. Also clue me into any other mods that may need to be addressed, such as fuel injectors or electricals. I know that I have to add or replace the fuel pump but as to the stock injectors I am not sure. Thanks.
uhh... u mite want to try to look into the FORCED INDUCTION section of this forum. There are LOTS of memebers including myself that have boosted preludes.

ok i checked out the forum and there was nothing referring to the power steering issue. how about some info as to how you handled this particular situation. thanks
The power steering fluid cooler is in the way of the intercooler. Needs to be relocated/removed. Drag kit is what I am attempting to install. All tips appreciated.
well the instructions the drag kit came with should have told u. U probably have to reloacte the lines for the cooler to the smaller opening on the radiator support which is a lil higher. Then unbolt the cooler, fit ur FMIC then find a place for the cooler, u mite be able to squeeze it in where one of the horns go.

thanks. unfortunately my kit did not come with ANY instructions. So like I said previously, any tips from all you succesfully boosted people are greatly appreciated. I am pretty good at following directions, but with none available, I am basically going by whatever I can find on the internet and any articles that I can find. I am also thinking that relocating the battery will give me a lot more room for ancilliary parts, i.e. fmu, vacuum block, and such. Photos have also been a good source of clearing up cloudy issues. So again, keep the information coming. Thanks
As for the vaccum block just get a GM 3bar map sensor which will clean things up and enable to boost higher later on. I relocated the battery to the front as well and it does make things look alot less cluttered. For fuel management, don't run the inline fuel pump, they suck imo i would suggest a intank which only costs about 99bux online or cheaper. make sure u also have a afc, vafc or some type of fuel controller.

Hey,
the kit you have uses and FMU correct? If I were you I would try to NOT get into too much boost with this setup, and get correct management.. Currently, socketing P13/P14(H22/H23) ECU's isn't quite "mainstream" yet, although they are pretty daggon close.. So buy a P06(civic) ecu or a P75(ls teg) ecu and socket it or get it socketed.. then you can use a rom editor and tune the car, and burn chips with a willem programmer($50).. its pretty easy really.. of course you will need a wideband, but I can hook you up with some basemaps to use until then..
You will also need new injectors as well with this setup, I am using DSM 440cc injectors, you can get them used pretty cheap ~$50
lots of info to take in, just mozy on over to forum.pgmfi.org and read till you pass out
As for the power steering cooler, yea I decided not to go with a FMIC because of this and the fact that there was NO other space for charge pipes haha, so I went water/meth injection.. If I would have had the money I would have gone for a Air/Water IC setup..
Hey, if any of you guys would be willing to send me pictures of your setups, i would be greatly in your debt. Strictly engine and as much detail as you can possibly include. If you all are willing you can email me directly at: gixxer@bellsouth.net
Like I said previously, no instructions and I am "flying by the seat of my pants" so to speak.
i had installed the manifold, turbo, ic pipeing, and then ran into the ic location problem. At that point I had to pack up and move from florida to tennesee because of employment, so I put the car back together so that I could drive it. It is now back to its original construction and I am now ready to tackle the turbo install again. Except that I would like to be better prepared for the unexpected. So again I am appealing to all you successfully boosted Luders to help me attain the status that you all are at. A boosted Prelude, especially fourth gen is a beautiful thing. Thanks in advance.

Alright, when you say 2.2l, do you have an H22 or an F22? (don't know anything about the kits)..
the ECU's I mentioned were for non-vtec..
I guess you need to lay out the charge piping and visualize where it goes, if you don't already know, and figure out where you are gonna run it, then make room, take out whatever you have..
I'm assuming you have another means of transportation?
all my pix are on my cardomain link which is on my sig. If you have a h22 u can run a chipped p28 or p72 ecu and get hondata on it. Not the cheapest or the most expensive but it works, works pretty well imo. If money is tight like i said u can use a afc of some sort to get u going. If you want u could just buy my car... its all done... heh i'm already bored of my car. Asking 15k as is.

it is h22jdm vtec. i do have alternate trans. but i don't want to get in the middle of the project and then hit a major roadblock and the car ends up sittion for a lengthy time.

A chipped P72/28 and a free rom editor like CROME/Uberdata, and the EPROM programmer to burn the chips, would be way cheaper than an SAFC, and just as good as hondata for the most part..
