just letting yall know. i just installed a whole front end from my jdm bumper
- bumper support
- nostrils with bracket
- headlights
and after everything was done, i tried to install the FM cooling plate. what do you know? it doesn't fit because the jdm brackets are slightly different. now i could take off the nostrils off and switch brackets but my old bracket is a little broken from an earlier fender bender. so i want to keep the current setup. i am thinking about modifying it to it will fit. it looks like i just have to lengthen the holes for the screws for it to fit. i'll keep yall posted.

^did you use the old nostrils? cause i compared both brackets and the jdm bracket that holds the nostrils is raised just a tad more. i dry fitted the cooling plate (although it isn't as flush to the radiator support as it used to be) i just need to dremel the two screw holes just a bit
i think i might do it tonite so i'll take pics

well i don't really need pictures since yall know what it looks like on.
all i had to do was dremel the mounting holes a little longer (towards the front). It is because the cooling plate edges are a little too big with the jdm bracket. you can either dremel the edges down or just extend the holes to make the plate sit closer to the radiator. I chose the latter. Not that hard of a modification if you have a dremel and the right bits.
another thing i noticed on the jdm bumper is that the hood release mechanism has a piece around it to prevent the hood release cable from being pulled. i wanted to transfer over the parts but i was lazy and if some really wanted to, they could even bypass that little plastic cover. another thing is because i would have to cut another piece out of the back of the cooling plate because it certainly would have gotten in the way.

you mean like if a theif wanted to open up the hood, he couldnt cause that plastic piece is in the way? i didnt know you could even get the hood to pop by just tugging on the string. or maybe youre talking about something different. but if it is like that, ide def be interested in protecting it.
yeah, you can just pull that cable it and it will open, just like your trunk
on the jdm, there is a "preventative" piece of plastic covering the cable. no don't get me wrong, this might deter a thief but a good one that wants your car can easily bypass it.
if you remember on certain civics (~1998 or so) the coupes front grill was wide enough to get your hand thru and just pull the hood release (we did this to a friend and took his spark plug wires) but yeah on a lude its a little harder seeing as the access to this area is kind of hampered. nonetheless this is another stupid reason why jdm cars > usdm. i don't kno why they shaft us on things.

I'm pretty sure all Preludes have that piece... atleast mine did... This guy showed me how he'd pop my hood and he took that piece off in a few seconds and popped the hood.
