Foglight H3's

I know the Foglight's H3 bulb is normally 55w...i'd like to upgrade to something brighter however..so my questiong is:

How high in wattage can i safely go by before any negative side effects such as burning the hearness??

hmm, tough question. Do you just have stock bulbs in there at the moment? I have silverstars in my fog lights right now, and they're fairly bright, so I can only imagine how bright the PIAAs of the same voltage are.

yes i have the stock ones on right now. The right bulb burned out so i just want to replace the set w/ a brighter one. So PIAA's are brighter than silverstars which are brighter than stock? Sorry, i am not too savvy when it comes to bulbs..

The brightest bulbs I have ever seen in a OEM foglight are the PIAA SuperPlasma's. I couldn't beleive how bright they were. But they are pretty expensive for two little freakin' bulbs.

^^ No worries mate, I don't know much about bulbs, other than silverstars are brighter than stock, and PIAA's upper echelon of bulbs are brighter than silverstars ... oh, and those same PIAAs are damn expensive. So basically everything Tyler just said

i tried higher wattage h3s, first 2 sets blew within 2 weeks, with stock fuse of 15A. 3rd set lasted about 6 month with fuse upped to 25A and blew again. Got tired of takin the bumper off to change bulbs, so i got in the zone ( autozone heh) and get stock bulbs, and back to a 15A fuse, and havent had a problems since. The light displacement is actually a lot better on stock h3s. I got higher wattage blue bulbs for my h4s, and stock bulbs for h1 and h3s, and the lighing is very bright compared to when i had higher wattage bulbs for h1s and h3s. So i suggest stickin with stock, cause i havent found any heavy duty harnesses for h3s (not sure on how they would fit in the fog light)

i've had a pair of them in my fogs for 2 years. I can't say that they are the brightest fog lights ever because they produce a lot of bluish light, but they look alright.

I have the Piaa xtreme white H3 bulbs in the lude and they are pretty bright.
For visibility I would get some yellow H3 bulbs since they seem to light the road better during rain, snow etc. I think Piaa's are probably the brightest bulbs available next to HID.

I would say the Xtreme Whites since those are usually "designed" to just be white in color. The Super Plasma mimics HID color and has that purplish-white color. Since you have the yellow lens the bulb color won't matter and I think the purer or whiter the light the better.

i have PIAA Ion Crystal H3's in my fogs, and i love them... they give off such a nice perfect yellow color, and actually work much better than any white colored fog lights.
