It could cause the lean condition. Try running some fuel sys cleaner like Chevron w/ Techron. It could be dirty injectors or a dirty fuel filter. Fuel filters are pretty cheap.
Check fuel pressure first then,
1) fuel cleaner
2) flex pipe
3) fuel filter
4) plugs
5) O2
If the pressure is good, you wont need to continue looking through the fuel system. As mentioned by the helm, only change the fuel filter when the pressures are low and its _not_ the fuel pump. And i thought we all agreed that fuel cleaner was high price alcohol and gimmicky at best.
