Fixed my A/C

Here was the problem, haha.

What do you all think would cause my compressor to crack that badly?
And thanks to Keith for hooking me up with a new one!

front end collision? maybe EXTREME temperature change?
Who knows? Did your a/c compressor come with the car?

or a big ass rock? haha i dunno. so did you have somebody charge the freon? who and how much? i fixed mine also. turned out to be a combo of things. my a/c controls soldering points and also the a/c compressor relay got wet and damaged (i had it tucked away into the fender).

The ac compressor came with the car..and has never worked. The car has never been in a front end collision from what I can tell. I got a suggestion that maybe one of the pistons inside binded up and thats the result.

Tony I haven't got my ac recharged yet, but I had one more small bottle of freon to test the compressor and it works. My friend works on wheeler for a trucking company, and he does ac work there. He said one day he is going to get me in there so they can run a vacuum on the lines and fill with the oil/freon for free =). Im glad that it wasn't your compressor tho man. I got a really good deal on mine. Has your ac been converted from R12 yet? luckily, my ac came with R134 already (had the later 1994 model I guess =D). My buddy here is licensed to handle R12 and might be able to do it cheaper than anyone else if I can get a hold of him and set a date, if you happen to be up this way man.
