Fixed my annoying shock knock!

I used to have this rattling sound from my passenger side rear shock. I'm lowered on Tokico HP (blue) shocks and Tanabe Precedeo springs. It would only make the noise early in the morning when it was cold and the car sat for a while. It didn't necessarily have to hit a bump to make the noise, just had to be rougher roads. Well, I fixed it with the updated collar that is shorter than the original. Whoever hasn't tried this, should. Here's the link: http://www.sonic.net/~danm/shock/

i had that problem last year (hopefully it wont return) it occured in the same conditions you explained... I just lubed up the collars and the problem was fixed.

However I have heard that a lot of people change their collars and it works well.
Thanks for the link.

What about the front driver side? Any of you guys heard of this? For some reason I can hear a squeaking/knocking sound under those same conditions. I lubed all the joints but its still there.

I'm betting that you could fix it with the same method. I believe the top part of each of the 4 shocks are the same. I ordered new rubber bushings, top lock nut, washer plate, and collars. The first 3 had the same part number for the front and rear. Not sure on the collars, but I'd imagine they're the same.
