first Prelude, can I raise it?

I just brought home my first Honda Prelude, 1993.. I have owned 4 Accords, (so far) This prelude was "lowered" which is a fine thing to do if you live on pavement, but I live 3 miles off pavement, and it rides pretty ruff! How much trouble is there to raise it back to original? I sure miss the center console arm rest on my wife's 2001 Accord! Any ideas there? Thanks for any help! ---Jon

stock springs, or if you still want better handling, coilovers would be your best bet. And for the armrest, i doubt you'll find the 93 VTEC option armrest for a decent price, so you'll want to do a 94-96 console conversion w/ Armrest, storage, and CUP HOLDER.

Dear aM1T,, Thanks for replying! Am I to assume that the "springs" were changed to lower the car? Please describe "coilovers", what they are and how they work, one last thing, this console conversion, does it include the shift boot? Or just the part with the hand brake, from a salvage company? Thanks! --Jon

Hey Guys, I really like the car! My wife's 2001 Accord, auto trans, 4 cylinder, runs about 3000 rpm at 75 MPH, this Prelude runs about 3600 RPM in 5th at 75 MPH.. is this normal? I would have thought the 5 speed would run a little slower RPM at 75 MPH... Just asking some "newbie" questions........ Jon

My .02 says that the stock springs will definitely raise your car because mine was lowered then raised. Take a look at the lifted Prelude thread.

if you put stock springs back in you should be fine.
Lifted Prelude?
this guys got a set for sale, or you might be able to find some at a scrap yard.

coilovers are pretty much adjustable springs
if theres coilovers on your lude you can raise it but two twisty things on your strut

If you can't find the stock springs, you can always take the springs you have on the Prelude out and have a friend hold on to one side while you pull on the other side. This will stretch the spring out and will raise your car up. Be careful how far you stretch the springs or your car might end up looking like a 4x4.
