first post

hey everyone

Just wanted to say hi and thanx to everyone on this forum for all the useful info they posted. Ever since i saw that pic on WW of the lude with the big mouth kit i've loved this car. So shortly after I bought a stock 92 SR which i've had for about two months now. But she is in the garage now cuz i hit a damn gopher or somthin like two weeks ago and it messed her up bad. But anyways i have a question. My friend has a G35 coupe and i was wondering what kind of mods (excluding FI) i would need to be able to keep up/beat him? Would the following be enough? I'm failry new to the car scene so no flames =)

h22 swap (cams, pistons etc to meet Type S hp)
i/h/e/p
vafc
75 shot of nitrous

any comments/suggestions?
(apoligies for the lengthy post and if its in the wrong forum)

what does g35 run? 14.1? 14.3?

An h22a with bolt-ons and a 75 shot should do that..

A bolt on H22 can run 14.3 with the right driver. I got the slip to prove it. Its got more in it too....

With a 75 shot and traction you could hit mid 13s no problem at all.

A Prelude run 13's?!?! Thats funny!!!

Jeremy, your car is a freak dude!

Well, I have that setup with more, and I am aiming for low 13's from an 80 shot. Maybe high 12's with a 100 shot on slicks!

For a strat, you could do
JDM H22
I/H/E
Clutch
4 bidden Short shift
Cams
Vtec Controller/Programmable ECU
Port & Polish Head
Fuel Rail
Larger Throttle Body
Adjustable Cam Gears
TUNING-TUNING-TUNING

For a start at least

Its not THAT hard if you know how to drive. I have no doubt that with my limited mods I could have hit 13s with some grip (at least radials) and a 2.1 60'. I did a 2.35 on my 14.3 run.

Dont discourage this guy.

Sorry....sarcasm doesn't transmit well online!.....

13's with stock cams is pretty unreachable though!....Unless the car is stripped like a Vegas showgirl! The power to weight just doesn't match up for it. I know there was a guy that did it with a gutted Accord, JDM H22- i/h/e/p/cg/vafc, clutch/flywheel/quaife on Drag radials.
I think he actually ran more like a high 13.7.....Anywhere in the 14's is still pretty respectable for a bolt-on H22, more than enough to toss pesky Civic and Teg owners around no prob.

thanx for the usful info peeps. i got alot of work and tons of research to do on my lude so i'll be around a bunch of different forums. But before i start on the engine i'll probably start with fixing up the body. ya i know most of you prefer go before show but the body should be my first priority. oh iam also planning on heading to Japan this march and iam gonna try and pick up a mugen wing and maybe the steering wheel. anybody know if mugen products cost the same there as here and if its as rare?

oh and thanx for the welcome preludedude =)
