My attempts to cover the piece in vynil failed, and a local uphoulstrey shop agreed that a more stretchy material was called for. So, I covered the enclosure in black grill cloth. I also finished the Pioneer coaxial grill that I modified to fit with the dremel tool.
looks amazing, how long did the whole project take? what size would you be able to fit in there?8?10?12!?

I think that is more optimal than having the subs outside of the cabin.
Yeah, I dont see how having it there would decrease the sound quality. I mean, sure. . .it's a small speaker and you cant expect it to perform like a 10", but having it there should be better than sticking it in the trunk. The whole backside has 3 layers of fiberglass, making an enclosure of about .125 cubic feet.

He's using the proper air space, and he's thickened the walls. Deflecting the waves off the back trunk (rattle rattle) make a sub sound deeper but your sound quality goes out the window. Red92s, on the other hand, should get excellent sound quality, ESPECIALLY because the sub is in the cabin with him. Nothing like a subwoofer pointing directly between the driver and passenger's heads to wake you up in the morning.
