a few questions for Y'all

Ok everyone..
I am kinda new to this forum, but am on hondasociety and have asked around there, to no avail..

1) For my fogs they're JDM, with the pigtail, but the harness doesnt fit the plug that's attatched to the turn signal harness, as stated in
Accessories Installation Instructions (page 5)
so should I splice the fog harnesses to the car's harness?

2)My auto down feature on my window is intermittent.. I even replaced the switch assy a while ago, and now it's not working all the time again.. any suggestions?

3) If I use my key to unlock my driver's door, it ONLY unlocks that door, even if I turn it twice, but if I unlock the passenger door, both doors unlock..
Why isnt my driver's lock unlocking both doors?

4) lastly (for now) my sunroof creaks all the time when closed.. i looked at the TCB thread ( TSB's to interior squeaks, thumps, creaks, rattles and other noises )for eliminating rattles, but I cannot understand the sunroof rattle solution.

Thanks a ton, and it's great to finally meet a group of knowledgable and FRIENDLY prelude owners.. everywhere else I've been, people are big douchebags.

Nate

1. you can splice it in but i don't see why they shouldn't fit? jdm fogs = usdm fogs. nothing is different. if you splice it in, might want to add a relay just in case you blow something

2. look at the wiring from the whole way??? electrical problems are always a pain. if you replaced the switch already then the only other thing that is big is the regulator

3. so its reversed? wierd. i honestly don't know unless you have a jdm car and don't know it

4. do you grease it with some regularity? is the actual sunroof rattling or something inside?

and for this last comment... sounds like you understand how things are run here.

either way, good questions. please elaborate on the problems a little more just because maybe some more can answer with some more detail

Well, the passenger side door SHOULD unlock them both, but the drivers door should do the same IF you turn it twice..

and the roof doesnt really Rattle but more of a creak or squeak.

and the fog harness is a bit bigger than the one coming from my car.. not much, but obviously bigger.. I'll try to take some pics tomorrow

for 3.) I think this is standard on a lot of cars? Almost all the cars I've driven that doesn't have keyless entry does this. It makes sense to unlock both doors from the passenger side because you're obviously back at your car and you're the driver. Why would you want to unlock the passenger door for whatever reason (say you have a lady with you) and then have to walk around to the driver door and unlock that one also? If you had no reason to open the passenger door and just went straight to your driver door, it would make sense to only unlock the driver side.

4.) I didn't peak at the thread but when my sunroof rattled I disassembled it and tightened the screws on the rail and it solved most of the rattling sound.

Yeah, most cars with power doors will unlock both from the driver's side when turning the key Twice, but will also unlock both doors from the passenger side, only turning the key ONCE...
PS, if anyone has any intermittent climate control issues, I just took mine out of the car, disassembled the CC, and resoldered all the plug solder points.. works like a brand new unit now!

Trust me, it's SOOO easy..
Just take out the 2 screws for the shifter panel, and your Shift knob, then remove your radio, unplug the 2 harnesses for the CC, IT's screws, and the cable, and you're out.
Then you disassemble the unit (I think it's 9 or 10 screws (2 on the vents, then 7-8 on the CC)).
Once you open it up, unplug the 2 light bulbs, and slide the circuitry out.
Then just touch the leads to the green plug with the iron.. i used a little more solder, but it's not really necessary..
I hope that helps, and hopefully I can get a better answer to my questions too :-p

Nate
