A few concerns...

First of all, would anyone happen to know which car these front turn signal lights came from?

(I'm not sure but I think they're supra turn signal lights or I've also heard from somewhere that 88-89 civic lights will fit, but then again I'm not sure)

I'm interested in getting a combat kit and want to know which front turn signal will fit in the holes on the side of it since it is not designed for the stock prelude turn signal lights to be placed in. Does anyone know the difference between VIS Racing Kombat and Andy's Autosport Combat kits (more particularly the front bumper).

Another concern I have has to do with my automatic transmission (H23A1). Is it bad if I shift an automatic tranny? I know for sure shifting gives me a much better run and more HP as I upshift right before redlining. If I race on D3 I lose a lot of HP than manually shifting 4spd as it shifts on a low RPM (too soon) automatically. It doesnt seem like it causes any damage, just maybe downshifting but I dont do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Would they be these?

88-89 Front bumper turn signal lights:

Supra front turn signal/parking lights:

Mysterious or no longer mysterious turn signal/parking lights on Prelude front combat bumper.

The Supra turn signals of course look a lot nicer, in my opinion. However, they'd probably be a lot more expensive to obtain than the civic lights. I also think the civic lights look kinda cheap.

I may go with Andy's Autosport Combat kit because I can get the whole kit brand new for a little less than $500.

You're right they don't look cheap. That was the first time I had seen them on a combat bumper. That's the VIS Kombat but I wonder if the Andys Autosport Combat is the same size as far as where the turn signal lights go. You can't wire it to be a parking/driving light? Is it only used as a turning signal for you or what?

How do you get your headlight housing to look so blue? Which bulbs do you have?

the blue is the reflection of the blue bulb in the housing.. i used to have nokya's and they were about that blue.. there were a few kids at school that tried to make fun of me for putting blue saran wrap on my headlights... what a bunch of morons...

Yeah as Frost said, they look blue because I bought Hyperwhites... I dont think it matters what brand you buy, if the filament is blue then it'll do that.....

The Bumper lights are used as only signals, they dont light up at all while you're driving.... When the stock bumper was on, there was a light that stayed on when the headlights turned on, but there's no where to put that on the Vis Kit, so right now its a dead wire.... I dont know enough about electronics, but it could be possible to splice that wire in with the signal wire and have it on, but ask someone else about that... could blow your isht up..

And another thing, I dont know how bodykits work but I never expected to get a VIS kit with signal lights in it, if you search HP.com, all of the Combat kits dont have bumper lights, so I dont know how you can guarantee whether or not you get one with bumper lights....

Yeah, that part we know. The bumpers don't come with any lights whatsoever. You get the lights custom on your own. You can easily find the civic lights on ebay, for about 20$ and sometimes the supra lights for about 50$. I would wanna wire them to be on all the time and flash alternately with the corner and side marker lights. If anyone knows how to do this hook me and anyone else interested in doing this up!

The filament can't be blue. It's the glass that is coated blue.

They are definitely supra turnsignals. I have supra turn signals on my car. 80 bucks from Autodynamic.com

I made brackets and bondo to hold the lense.

Jape, are you looking for anything to cover the middle grill? I made a stainless steel sheet and covered it with..rice paper=]. $15 bucks if you want it.

Very nice Jake :bigthumb:

Do they run as driving/parking lights also? Or just strictly turn signals? Are you on HP.com so I can check out the rest of your car there?

Phamine@hp.com

I just used the same setup as stock. The little wedge bulb stays on when the parking lights are on. So when it blinks, the turn signal alternants. I haven't figured out how i would be able to make them flash at the same time as of yet.
