no

you should rewire it to a switch you control. Then you can turn it on for extra cooling

YES, you can take it out now. It serves no use anymore but added weight unless you rewired it, which could be kinda cool

Both come on in my car if it is hot enough. I'd leave it in.

Hmmm, you sure you didn't have your AC on at the time? That's the only reason it should come on. It's just an AC fan. Says so in all manuals I have and states it as one when you buy parts online.

I'm 95% sure I saw both on and there was no A/C. Maybe I'll check again today if I have time.

However, in the helms there is a section on trouble shooting and one of the problems that occurs is when BOTH radiators don't come on for cooling but BOTH come on when the A/C is on, which sounds to me like both are meant to cool as well. I dunno, it's all plastic and very light but if you think it's worthwhile...

took it out, its fine, civics run one fan and do fine, mine never come on anyway, if your that worried about it run more water then coolant in you system during the summer, just make sure you have some in there, to keep stuff from corroding.
