Faded rear seats...How to fix/replace?

I have posted this on H-T as well to get as much input as possible..

Ok so I am one of the many with faded rear upper seat cushins in my 4th gen (California sun)...I want to get that OEM look restored but what is the most cost efficient way of doing this??...I want OEM quality as well without having to buy new seats from the dealer...Should I go to an upholstery shop and tell them I want to "restore" my seats? And how much should I expect to pay?
If you have done this please share your experience and any tips you might have...
And no I will not gut the back I want to keep full interior..I just want it to look clean...thanks for any help/input...

maybe try using an upholstery (sp?) cleaner first, and see how that does. other than that, i'm pretty sure they make fabric dye. maybe you could find a close match, or mix up a custom color?

Well i didnt want to go with the dye because ive heard bad things about it (smell, color not matching, etc.)...Upholstery cleaner wont do anything...The seats are alreaqdy as clean as can be its just faded from the sun....I am assuming im going to have them "re-upholstered but can they "match" the material and color?

prob would be hard to match but who knows until you try.

maybe just keep an eye on the many partouts going on all the time, and snag a set of rears in better condition from someone else. or there's always the junkyard.

good luck.

When i got my 4th gen done a few years back they could not match the pattern or the colors(couldent tell if it was supposed to be black or crappy shades of blue) so i picked a nice black material i liked and they recovered the inserts and armrest with the same material. It looked so much better than the faded blue that everything had become. I paid around 800.00 and the material was stain and smell resistant with a 5yr warranty.

HMMMM for $800 i could have new OEM seats from the dealer wit a couple hundred to spare....Ive been looking for a clean set of rear searts for over 1 year they are hard to find....Junkyards in Cali are always full of people stripping hondas and they usually are stripped by the time someone like me gets there....I guess ill shop around for prices and ill keep an eye out for part outs....My interior is the si vtec black btw (93)

Yeah it wasnt cheap but the warranty and doing the inserts/armrest to match won me over. I have a kid so the smell and stain resistant material is what bumped the price up quite a bit. Go to a shop and see what they say, dont forget to try and get them to bring the price down a bit places like that are struggling to stay open these days.
