Factory Alarm/Keyless entry?

I have a 1996 Prelude Si. It has power door locks. When I purchased the vehicle at 141k miles I was given two keys with no transmitter. I was given a folder of maitanence records and at around 90k there is a receipt for a repair shop "dis-arming alarm system". I don't see a siren anywhere under the hood. Did my Prelude come with a factory alarm or keyless entry system? If it has a factory keyless entry I'm just trying to figure out if all I need is a transmitter.

Thank you!

i think they have some sort of alarm but it just arms and disarms when you are locking and unlocking the car with your key. sorry if thats confusing. I have some sort of alarm on my 5th gen but theres no remote or anything. Its only gone off once and thats when i had locked the car from the outside with the key, then unlocked it from the inside though an open window.

I think what you are describing is the central locking device. I used to have a 92 Accord that did not have one. How did I know? When I unlock my drivers door I still have to hit the unlock button from the inside to unlock all 4 doors. The following generation was a bit smarter with a CLD, if you held the key in the door in the unlock position all of the doors would unlock at the same time. My 95 Prelude is the same way.

Chances are an aftermarket unit was installed, and perhaps taken out again later. If it had been a keyless entry dealer upgrade, they probably would have opted for repair instead of removal.

The good news is, if you wanted to install keyless entry you won't have to install a central locking device, just wire to the exsisting one. Now where is that thing anyway?
