This is probably a silly question, considering I've heard so many horror stories about people's cars getting broken into with decent security systems installed, but I have the chance to get a new factory alarm system, and while the idea of having a honda key fob remote for my car makes me feel all warm inside ( ), I'm wondering if would just be a better idea to get a clifford. I've searched around po, and a few people said to opt for an aftermarket one, because the factory one is uselss. I don't know if they knew about the sensitivity adjustment knob on the control unit, but I guess I can see how a factory alarm may not be as sophisticated as a quality aftermarket one. Whatdya say?
aftermarket for sure! u wont regret it. all those added lovely features, or a crappy open/close key? its ur choice.... its really a no brainer! how about u copy me some more and get my alarm?
yea man, just save up the extra $$ and get an aftermarket. I just got a Viper 690 with every possible option, 1 word: LOVE. I'm VERY happy with this system.
what about remote start? that's really separate of the alarm, but I'd love it if I could configure a remote starter to work with my 5-speed (i know there's posts on it, i'll read some of them later), but did you alarm come with the option to have remote start preconfigured with it? I mean, there are some systems out there that are intertwined with the remote start, so if the car has been remote started, and the alarm goes off, the car shuts off, things like that.
lol, midnight thinks I'm copying him because I've bought three of the same mainstream parts that he's using, of course I don't see him going after every other person who has an exmag, a ds ss header and a chrome aem intake.
Anyway, back to the main subject, anyone have a Clifford G5 installed? I can't even imagine how expensive those are, and I don't know if it's worth it to ask what a good alarm system is, because, like asking for a good cat-back (which I've done), everyone will just say "get mine, I like it".
