F22B1 swap, VTEC not working

so i just swapped out my blown F22A1 for a F22B1, my question is what do i have to do in order to get my vtec working? i know im gonna need the wires but is the P12 ECU that comes with the A1 vtec compatible? and if not what would be the preferred ecu for my swap

here are the numbers:

37820-P0A-A51 - if you have auto

37820-P0A-A01 - if you have manual

P0A = OBD1 (94-95 F22B1)
substitute with P0H = OBD2 (96-97 F22B1)

What is the number on your P12? also stay away from using P13 on your motor.

For Vtec all you have to do is run wires.

Looks like you have OB2 motor. If your ECU says 37820-P0H-A01 then you are in the clear. I don't know if P12 says that number. Check what it says on your ECU, it should have the sticker on it.

Keep in mind, there are people that can tune your ECU to make it work for you. I just wouldn't know anything about that. I hope someone here chimes in and helps you out.

SOL?

all I know that the ECU you have was not originally compatible with your motor. I'm sure you can tune it to work for you, just that I don;t know anything about that.

just use regular copper wire coted of course. the vtec wire i believe is blue than you have a black ground and a green wire that goes into the green connector right below the vtec selenoid. correct me if im wrong. And you will just need to find a wiring diagram to show you where they plug into your ecu. if i get some free time ill take my ecu out and show you where my wires are ran for my h23vtec

so i installed a P0A A01 and the motor seems to just not agree with it. the engine backfires nonstop and stalls after accelerating. i tried running the car with a friends P28 and the car ran fine. ive done my homework and the 95 accord vtec ecu is a P0A so im completely lost to what the problem is.

btw ive tried two different P0As so i kno its not just a bad ecu
