im having trouble tryin to find info on this motor. I just bought a replacement and this is what they gave me. I have a 92 prelude type s. it came with a f22a1. He said its from japan. but i argued that the f22b was a dohc. Am i wrong. I need to make sure this is a legit replacement motor to throw back into my lude. I live in California where the laws so strict on smog crap. Before I do all the labor I need to know im okay.
Its stamped F22B....its a sohc...and non vtec???

There's both versions. The f22b came in both dohc and sohc. There are actually several versions of the motor.

i had a f22b and it was a dohc non vtec motor...basically looked just liek an h23
