F22B ?? Over my head - Help

Hey guys. I apparently did not know what I was getting into when I purchased a 1993 Prelude Si with a JDM F22B DOHC motor swap. Besides not having a clue regarding what parts came from what motor, I don't know where to GET any parts. I'm mainly concerned with: 1. Where do I find a A/C compressor? 2. I should change the timing belt since I don't know the history of the engine, but where do I find that? 3. How can I tell if the manual transmission was switched as well? I don't even know if the stock tranny fits this thing
Any practical help would be appreciated.

Any H or F series transmission (excluding s2k of course) will work.

I believe you can use H23 accessories as far as A/C compressor, power steering, and alternator. I do not know for sure though.

pretty much all h23 parts are interchangeable. The head is the same, the block is the same...except for some small details that arent important. If your trans code is 'M2S4' then you have the h23a1 trans that came with it:

It's real close to the starter - if you look for it, you'll see it. Get it checked out and make sure the t-belt is okay. Chances are, it's fine, but its worth the look. The F22B timing belt is slightly shorter than the H23a1 belt, but the h23a1 belt is fine to use

OK- thanks you guys. So is there anywhere I can get the actual correct timing belt? And how many (shop) hours does it take to put in?

a shop will charge anywhere from 500 to 1,000 to put it in. I would get your local mechanic to do it. Either it works or it doesnt. Get a new water pump and balance shaft belt too.

JDM F22b Timing/Blanacer Belt.........(check this out) - JDM Universe.com

F22B Timing Belt - CB7Tuner Forums

Some information on the JDM F22B DOHC engine

that last link has a wealth of info (pretty much a condensed first link)

If you're changing the oil pump too, you need to get the F22A oil pump. I made the mistake of buying the H23a oil pump which didn't line up. The head is the same as the H23 but the block is essentially an F series. Just to save you the hassle I went through.
