F22a redline

Anyone?

I thought about putting an F22 in my car for the time being, but I think with my H22a tranny it wouldn't last too long heh heh...or I just couldn't drive super fast on the highway...

It has the same gauges as a Si so it is 6500 on the dash. I think the rev limiter is sooner then on a h23 though. I'd try to keep in under 6500 if you tossed one in.

Well I think 4000 on the higher should be okay...

Does the F22a have a spot/have a knocksensor?

Nope, no knock. I've got an F22 if you want it. It's leftover from my swap though, so no fuel rail, wire harness, downpipe, etc. Free to good home.

No Kidding I am getting one from a guy in the same boat for free as well...

Is there a spot to splace the knock sensor? Hmm....looks like I will have to find a 96 S F22a and ecu if I want this to work smoothly...arrgh....

I'll go look at my block out in the driveway tonight. I have an ECU you can snag for free, but it's OBD1. . .

Well I can get an OBDI engine for free as well, I think I'm just too cheap cause I find it ridiculous that I would buy a conversion harness for an S model engine hahaha...

re-heh-heallly......

Okay let's brainstorm, if I put a 92 F22a in my car...and use a OBDII ecu...what will happen....do I need a different engine harness?

No you just won't plug in a few things. Your harness will work fine because the ecu is only looking for the things the f22 has so if you leave the things that don't need to be plugged in you will be fine.

life would be a lot easier if you could buy a 96 f22. with your harness you have to cut a lot of ****. (sorry I thought it said 96 f22 not 92)you are going to have to cut to make your distribitor work, to make the CKP work, because now it is located within the dist. your 96 harness will be cut to ****. I have done this conversion one time but it was dealing with a H23 and let me say it was the hardest job I have ever done, there were so many problems, mainly with MAP, TPS, Distribitor, EGR, CKP, other than that it is easy.

Also I can you a detailed write up of how to change every wire but I need a few days and need toget a hold of my boy's car that I did it to. But you can do it. Hope you have patience. Or I can get you the 96 distribitor, and the CKP off a 96 f22 block that I have in my garage.

Are you sure I have everything you need to make a 92 work with a 96 harness. I have it all.

Why are you so concerned about the knock sensor? Do you know what it is supposed to read when the car is not knocking? I take it you just want to hook it up so you wouldnt run in limp mode.

Okay so I need what...

A 96 F22 ecu...which you have...then what? You have the 96 S harness as well?

Then the only I have to do is re-wire the Crank Position sensor?

I have the 96 distribitor and CKP for the s engine. You can use your harness and make the engine ODB II just install the CKP It isn't really that dificult, I can take pics and show you how. Just use your harness and not run the vtec part. Then you won't have to rewire anything.
