F22 tranny on h22 motor?

I got an f22 in my 92 preude right now but i got a deal in my pocket from a guy saying that he would sell me an h22 motor with a tiptronic tranny? and a ecu for 3 or 400? the motor has 28000 on it i guess it was in a 2000 or 2001 prelude and i guess a tree fell on it and totalled it and its just taking up space and hes just trying to get rid of it. so what is a tiptronic tranny? and would my f22 tranny fit on it?

Basically its an auto tranny with a manual mode. Most newer autos have them, but the preludes seem like one of the first to really start it in the affordable car range. My girl's Mazda 3 has it, and its niffty, but I find it a nuisance honestly. Supposedly the ones in the preludes were/are prone to breaking.

Sounds like a good deal though, scrap the auto tranny since it wont work in your car(as far as I know), and bolt up your trans to the h22. If you can, get ahold of an si or si vtec trans that would be perfect, because you'll have long gears with that accord trans. It will help with the gas milage, but if you like to haul ass, it will let you down.

My only concern is I thought that the h22a4's had some kind of imobilizer, so if someone else could clear that up, please do.

I honestly am not sure. I know that it is a generally accepted rule that you can mount any F/H series trans on any F/H series engine, but as with any rule there is always exceptions to a rule. Maybe one of our older members can chime in?

The thing I'd be more concerned about is that imobilizer thing. I'm sure its just an ecu program so you should be able to swap out another one (p13 maybe?). But i bet its safe to say that you'll be fine on the trans, just do some searching. I just recently thought about switching to the f22 trans, but got lucky and it ended up being an h23 trans(m2s4). While I was looking I didn't see any kind of fitment issue, so just do some digging to make sure.

It's a more complicated swap due to the fact it's a obd2 motor going into a obd1 car.

Kron 98sh has a transmission compatibility guide. I would look for that.
