F22 ?'s

What all can you do to a F22B? Is there a DOHC VTEC head that'll fit the F22 block?

Thanks!

The only head that I think may fit you car is a f20 head off an accord si-r. As far was what you can do to the engine, you could probably turbo it fine.

I have been told that the F22B is the same as the H23, minus that .1 liter. So since you can slap a Vtec head on a H23 you should be able to do the same to a F22B

So, lets say you turbo'ed a f22b(mine has it) how far could you get? Isnt it worth a swap to a more powerful engine?

Well its similar to the h23 as far as being DOHC non vtec. With turbo you wouldn't have as many problem with parts since most get custom piping done. As far as power is is not worth puting in another engine for more power. It will cost somewhere from 2500-3000 to put in a h22 and to build it n/a will cost a lot more and you might be able to get 200-210 whp. If you turbo a h22 you might yeild a bit more power after putting the same amount of money into it but you already had to spend 3 grand on the engine.

If you f22b is in good shape and you want to go turbo with 7-9psi on stock internals or fully built and boost more, keep it.

red is right. F22A is a sohc motor but the F22B was the japanese quivalent to the H23A. A DOHC non-vtec motor.

I generally won't respond to for sale requests posted in a discussion forum, I usually request people contact me via IM or email. The thread for my enclsoure has been in the classifieds and linked in my sig for over a week now.

It's not the same thing, the F22B is basically a H23 but it's not a de-stroke H23 it's more like a under-bore H23, the F22B has a 85mm bore and the H23 has a 87mm, they both have the same 95mm stroke though so a VTEC head might fit on it but since the bore is different (bigger on the head) it won't have a nice combustion chamber which can cause detonation and make less performance.

Check out www.crvtec.com they talk a bit about that since they put head with 81mm bore on a 84mm bore block and they say you should get the head machined to get the bore to 84mm
