F20Z1 engine

Hi all,

My engine packed in last week at only 92k miles young (cracked engine block). I speedily arranged a replacement from a garage recommended to me. They were very fast and very very cheap. I have given the engine a good service and all seems well. The thing is My 2ltr prelude was an F20A4 and the engine that is in it now is a F20Z1. Does anyone know the difference between them as I am failing to spot any - other than the tappets aren't noisy in the morning anymore

I think the "Z" designation indicates the engine was a factory rebuild ..
(usually a warranty replacement if an engine fails and needs to be replaced while the car was still relatively new)

Yeah - this is in a 4th gen. I know this was never in the prelude - this engine came from an accord. All looks pretty much the same - except a bit smoother and less noisy - same power (feels like) and no pause at 5400rpm anymore which is nice.

It's a factory replacement engine. Should be the exact same.
