f20b swap with h22

i have a 93 prelude and am tired of putting money into the engine. i was wondering if i could just swap my OBD1 h22 with an OBD2 f20b. and if i put the f20b block in but used my h22 head would i have more horsepower? and would i have to do any re-wiring since my car is obd1? or could i keep all the wiring and just get a new ecu? also would i have to get a new tranny since the f20b has shorter gears?

You can swap the H22 head onto the F20b block, but it's really not worth it because f20b parts are hard to find. Local Honda dealerships will not carry anything for the f20b. I've done swaps with f20b motors and they do have a higher redline than the h22's, powerwise they are about the same. What's wrong with your h22? As far as the tranny, your stock prelude tranny will bolt to an f20b.

im thinking of doing the same swap but i have a BB2 with the H23a1 but swap to the F20B and they told me the same thing about finding parts for the F20B. and about they told me that it would bolt right on, the only problem is the ECU

The F20b is pretty much a destroked H22a but with iron liners in the cylinders rather than FRM. I don't think its a great motor for the Prelude, the hp is the same but with weaker torque that's at a higher rpm. From what I've read on honda-tech a lot of the H22a parts work for it if anything breaks but don't hold me to that.
