More info about this motor. Not sure why it's $3500 , but it's rare.

THe F20B is the basis for the R&D behind the F20C/S2000 Motor

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=760843
http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=667350

It's 2.0L 11:1 compression (Type-S head with a 85mm cc) 85mm block and indestructible components. It was the basis for the 2.0L BTCC Race motor as well, one look at the rods and you'll know. Great motor with lots of potential, but not necessarily great for a heavy prelude.

It makes peak power about 4-600 rpms higher than an H22a and peak torque about 1000 rpms higher. It's a high revving motor if that's what you're looking for. Down low not so much.

It probably won't have such a great effect if you swap it in the heavier prelude. Definitely nice engine though.

Joel, what's the redline man? Pretty sure you're the only one that'll know.

you could rev it to 9000 all day if you were making power up there.

Man Joel... you should have built that engine. It would have been great.

Like he said, IF you can make power at that high or an rpm with so much heavier of a car.

EDIT: "of an rpm"

well the engine does, I'm just saying the weight will inhibit the ability of the car to rev so quickly. But I know a friend with an F20B in a fifth gen and he loves it.

F20B has a lot of potential.

F20B with CNC Ported Head, JUN3 Cams, Header, Hondata, STOCK BLOCK.

213whp at about 8500 rpm
147.7wtq at about 7000 rpms

That's a high power band though

Joel: That torque curve is pretty flat though from about 3500 on. I don't think it'd be any worse down low than an H22. Peak torque on the engine you posted is higher than that on a stock h22. Not to mention, the S2000 weighs about the same as a Prelude, and it did fine with the 2.0L.

Yeah it's all in the tuning. Hondata plus I would guess the guy was either running open header or no cat. Dyno shops are always snekay like that. But I agree it's a nice torque curve. Like I said my buddy put an f20b in a 5th gen lude and like it just fine.

Isn't that CNC ported head a pretty big power-gainer (and also really expensive). I mean, that looks like a nice dyno plot, but its also got a few grand in improvements.
