Any reason you dropped the tranny before removing the engine?
Glad to see things are going well. Make sure you wash the engine while its out, cause it will be a pain to get it clean later. I put masking tape on the left side of the engine bay (near the shock tower and engine mount bracket) so that the paint wouldnt be scratched by the crank pulley.
Be carefull lowering the H22 in, its a much tighter fit than the old engine. People usually have a hard time getting the intake manifold to clear the firewall, be carefull or you can trash the TPS.
Oh, BTW. . .I really like those wheels, nice and understated!
We dropped the tranny out basically to give us some more room to move about, once it was out we could really swing the engine around and not worry about trashing anything
The only blooper made so far was by me, the F20 Header is a 4-1 the H22 is 4-2-1
So I've spent a bit of the afternoon trying to locate a downpipe, ruddy nightmare is all I can say.
I see that instead of separating the lower ball joint you did the upper one. How did that work out. The lower ball joint is the only thing I am unsure of on my upcoming swap (June 12 ).
NEways, it looks good. You don't even need to change the engine harness (lucky right hand driver). Have fun on the rest of the swap.

Found one now though for about $60
Thanks again!
I can't wait to hop in and fire it up

The F22 header is the same way. I was supposed to have a downpipe included with my swap, but it wasn't. It took me about 2 weeks to source another one from california.
Since you have a lift, you might want to consider lowering the car over the engine rather than dropping the H22 in from the top. Apparently, installation is easier that way, but I dont have any first-hand experience.
3. Is the wiring loom the same on F20a4 and H22? Nearly, you'll need the H22 wiring loom for the engine and then need to feed 3 extra wires to the ECU (I can't remember what they are as this was probably 5 years ago now, a search on H22 AND Swap or writeup should yield the answers you need.
