exhaust problem...recommendations - Honda Prelude Forum

So, brought the 93 vtec lude to the shop today, cause the exhaust had a leak. needed to get fixed for inspection. So turned out it has more then 1 leak. Everything needs to be replaced from the manifold. was quoted ~$988 + ~$125/$150 for labor.

For the same price or mabye even a bit cheaper i might be able to pick up a nice high flow cat along w/ header/downpipe and cat-back exhaust.

Should i bother getting a header if the manifold is still good? it was ~188 for the downpipe to the cat. cause adding a header i'm sure would bring up the causes of the labor a good amount...or i would think.

Eric, I would get a custom Random Tech or Carsound cat with the piping size matched to the exhaust. IIRC the RS*r is 2.5" OD piping, so get the std cat but ask them to change the piping to 2.5" OD. Ray got a cat like this from Random Tech. You can always do the header later... but if you have the money I would get a Greddy.
