exhaust gasket

my greddy ss header has had a leak for awhile now and i am sick of it...i went to a shop around my house and they told me to call greddy, i called greddy and said i can only get it from a dealer and one of the dealers is the same shop that told me to call them...now i have compelety giving up on buying the gasket so i am going to make my own this week...i am going to home depot and buying quarter sized aluminum and taking out the greddy gasket and dremeling a new one out of the aluminum...is there anything wrong with this? i was told that it would be better to use this over the one that comes with the header?

Try it, but I think it won't seal well.

If your talking about the gasket at the head, you can get that at the Honda dealer. If its at the downpipe or at the cat, you might have to make one. Mine is leaking at the cat and nobody has one. The gasket there is different from stock on mine. Its flat. I'm not sure how to make one, I was going to check into that this week.
